Lifestyle - Everyone who lives in
Summit County know they are living in Paradise no matter the season.
With over 300-days of sunshine, it is paradise in all seasons. In
Spring & Summer the landscape changes to green, from the gold
of Fall and the white of Winter. In Spring snowshoes and skis
are replaced by bicycles and golf clubs. There are five ski
resorts in Summit County and five golf courses, along with crystal
clear Lake Dillon, and the fabulous Blue River.
Investment - The Summit County real estate market continues to be one of the strongest in the country. In my opinion, despite the current strong appreciation, this is the proverbial tip of the iceberg. Whether you are looking for a fabulous mountain home, ski-in/ ski-out condo, or that cabin in the woods, now is the time to invest in Summit County. Summit County prices continue to be substantially below other major ski resorts and vacation communities.
Retirement - Summit County in general, and Breckenridge in particular, offer the lifestyle of a permanent vacation, in an active lifestyle community. Recreation opportunities in the winter include Alpine and Nordic skiing, snowshoe, and snowmobile touring. Summer activities include world-class golf, boating, white water rafting, trout fishing, hiking and biking. Cultural events include The Breckenridge Festival of Film, Genuine Jazz Festival, concerts by the National Repertory Orchestra and Breckenridge Music Institute, live theater, along with Art Festivals throughout the year. January highlight is the International Snow Sculpture Competition. Weather - Not only does Summit County offer 300-days of sunshine, but also low humidity throughout the year. Summer offers 75-80 degree days, and 50-60 degree nights that coupled with low humidity guarantees incredible days and eliminates the need for air-conditioning. Summit County offers some of the highest ski resorts in the country, which almost guarantee great snow. Summit County ski resorts open in November and close the end of April
Transportation – Summit County is an easy drive from Denver International Airport all on Interstate I-70. My suggestion is to rent a car, however, there is public transportation available. Once you arrive in Summit County there is FREE public transportation to all towns and resorts. Buses handle your skis in the winter and your bicycle or golf clubs in the summer.
SUMMIT COUNTY Truly a small town atmosphere, Summit County permanent residents only number about 25,000. The county offers fabulous schools, and an incredibly safe, virtually crime free community. The towns, communities, and resorts in the county include:
Breckenridge – This Victorian Mining town is at the base of the Breckenridge Ski Resort. The friendly residents treat you like a local. When you enter a retail store or restaurant, the person who greets you is probably the owner or family. Breckenridge offers fabulous investment opportunities in single- family homes, condos, townhouses, in all price ranges.
Copper – A fabulous resort that offers great skiing & golf. Enjoy the incredible views as you shop & dine. Great opportunities to invest in condos & townhouses.
Dillon – Located on the shores of crystal clear Lake Dillon offering sailing, rafting and fishing throughout the summer. Condos & townhouses are located right on the lakeshore.
Frisco – Originally a Victorian stagecoach stop, situated on the shores of Lake Dillon. Centrally located in the county, Frisco offers homes, condos and townhouses.
Silverthorne/ Wildernest – Located on I-70, Silverthorne is famous for fantastic outlet store shopping. Real Estate opportunities include everything from condos to 25 & 50-acre ranches.
Park County – Located 20-miles south of Breckenridge, over Hoosier Pass, Park County offers single family homes, many with large acreages, at exceptional prices.
